FAQ About Math Olympiad

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the world’s premier math competition for high school students, held in a different country every year.

There is no fixed syllabus for the Math Olympiad. Instead, questions are designed to evaluate the types of problems students in different categories should be able to solve. By reviewing previous years’ questions, you can gain a strong understanding of the typical scope. Generally, the problems are divided into four main areas: Geometry, Algebra, Number Theory, and Combinatorics.

For good results in the Math Olympiad, it is first necessary to have a good grasp of the math book of your class. In addition to having a grasp of your own book, it is also important to familiarize yourself with the math festival problems by solving previous years’ problems. More details about the preparation are mentioned on the official Math Olympiad website.
