Another Tech Border

This tutorial is better than before . You will meet more effect and new technique.

FIRST WE ARE GOING TO MAKE THE METAL STYLE/TEXTURE.
start by creating a new 500×500 pixel image. Press “D” to set your colors to default.

now, do the following:
1. Filter > Render > Clouds
2. Filter > Noise > Add Noise with 50% noise. (monochromatic box checked)
3. Filter > Blur > Motion Blur with an angle of 0 degrees and a distance of 25 pixels.
4. Filter > Noise > Add Noise again but this time use an amount of 10%.

Now the result will be:

Now press Ctrl+A to select all and Edit > Define Pattern and name it “Metal”. now we have our METAL texture/style.

Next thing to do is, the borders itself.
1. Create a new image of any size.
Change your foreground color to a medium-dark gray and press Alt+Backspace to fill the “Background” layer with that color. Press D to revert to the default colors.

2. Create a new layer and name it “box”. Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool, make a small selection and press Alt+Backspace to fill it with black. You should have: Another tech border - Photoshop Tutorials

3. Create a new layer or simply press Ctrl+SHIFT+N and name it “BORDER” and drag it above the “BOX” layer. Using the Polygonal Lasso Tool while holding Shift, make a selection for the BORDER of your Box layer that we made in the previos step. Press Alt+Backspace to fill the selection with black.

4. (NOTE: do not miss this step) Right click your “BORDER” layer and select Blending Options and just like before, apply the following Bevel and Emboss, Color Overlay, and Pattern Overlay layer style settings:

6. Right click on BORDER layer>duplicate layer>OK.

7. CLICK the original BORDER layer. Now select magic wand tool and click on the border you made. Then click
Select>Modify>Expand>5pixels>OK. This will make a larger border. then hit Alt+Backspace to fill it with metal style.

8. Finally, we are done. Now you should have this image: Another Tech Border - Photoshop Tutorials
